Here are the rules to the debate forum.
More rules will be added soon. please follow these rules .

1) Please respect your fellow members while debating.

2) No foul language is allowed. Debate with respect

3) No racial slurs will be allowed. You will be banned if you are caught doing so.

How about the "Attack the post not the poster" rule???

This is the main rule on the other sites of Chases.

Rosita.... you forgot this is NOT a Caddy (chase) site anymore. Besides, he does not show up his sorry a** as often as he should (methinks you were following his example when u decided to make a run for 'rico and hide there for awhile)

Sometimes the post is the person. Your opinion is who you are some would say but i know what you mean. well play it by ear for sure and i think this is a call for Eric. Hes the admin running the forum so its really his call.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on this (wow, I finally agree with you on something, ROTFL!!).

Most of the time, if not always, our posts/opinions are/show our inner self/ideas/outlook on a particular issue and so on. Thus, those opinion/posts actually reflect us as human entities.

Am glad Steve took the decision to let this new forum (Debating) evolve by itself. Am sure there are many of us that are very opinionated about a certain issue or issues and look forward to having memorable, highly charged, soul-serching, mind-breaking discussional debates on some of those issues.

But dont try to debate just for argument's sake. Rather, do it in an intelligent and well reasoned manner, bringing your knowledge and/or personal experiences to the table. No hearsay either.... you will need to back up and support everything you say or lose... and if you lose, it may not be just the debate but your credibility.

In other words, if you lose a debate, be it because the other side had better supporting arguments and not because you were ill-prepared. You don't go into war unnarmed... debate can be like war and so... good luck!

Debating is not for the faint in heart or for the missinformed. So, ladies and gentlemen... get into the fray and good luck.

Of course, it will be up to our fearless leader and forum administrator: Eric to control the precedings....

Just my two bits, toss out the Roberts Rules of Order and rock and roll!

Ok, here's my opinion, I do agree with the "attack the post, not the poster" rule, whereas I also agree with Steve and palito above that sometimes the post is a direct reflection of the poster. So, I believe that for now we will play it by ear, and keep a close eye on things, and then if need be, handle any situations that arise on an individual basis.

What happened to the debate subforum? A certain member clearly requested it. We had Steve set it up, some simple ground rules created and everything is ready to go. Now... this person just went poof and has not shown any signs of life or initiating the 'Debatatante" Ball first dance? And no, I am not going to start. We have enough members around who are iddling and who need to show a little more enthusiasm and care for the forum... so let them or this little area may just die a virgin.
