lol, you guys are crazy, ya'll created a Spanish thread and so far out of 10(11 including this post) there has been spanish spoken in like 3 or 4 of the posts. Don't feel like you have to speak in English on my part, heck, I might start typing in some German, lol, if I can remember enough to formulate a sentence.

You know what? I find that most Spanish people in my area only like to talk English. Even if it's bad English because they want to fit in. I get so frustrated when I go into a store and ask for help and there is a person who I know is Spanish so I'll talk in Spanish but they will answer me in English because they refuse to speak Spanish...that was long winded. It burns me up, but I understand what they are trying to do and I think it's a good thing.

Same here in San Diego. Bunch of wannabes. Still, because it borders Mexico, almost everyone over here is bilingual. Just one thing we do differently from LAX: We don't have as many storefronts with Spanish language names. That is pase' .
As for me, I adapt. You talk to me in English, I reply in English, you talk to me in Spanish, likewise. And so does for other languages I more or less am capable of communicating in.
I just don't like getting any kind of segregation, no matter what the reason or how mild.
One thing is making an effort to blend with the rest of the population. Homologating, they call it. Quite another is falling into the ridiculous.
Off my soapbox.

Wow, after reading all the posts, all I can say is wow.
I feel like I am to blame because I started to type to another member here in Spanish. Sorry if I started something, didn't mean too. That is the last thing on my mind is to be "banned" (not literally but I hope you know what I'm trying to say) for something I did or say out of the way.
We are all here to chat about New Jersey and other stuff and to get to know a little about one another.
Steve: If there are any hard feelings, sorry.
***O y perdon que no lo escribi en espanol pero quierria que todo los miembros lo leen.

Sorry, for what, Rosa?
No one is to blame. We just have acted and written according to our personal feelings and viepoints.
I do understand Steverino's concerns but really see no reason for this particular "spanish only" forum. After all, TNJ is kind of a veritable UN.
Still, even if I am in complete dissagreement on this forum, I will defend Steve's right and opinion and, as always, stand by him. Maybe some day he will understand the reasons behind other peoples reasoning for not wanting this or whatever and will remove it but, until then... Respect is the word. I just dont come in here too often (into this particular forum) and sometimes post, at least partially, in Espanol (and, if someone wants to chide me for my tosudez, so be it. The same as I will defend other people's rights... so will I defend and stand by my own).
As for chatting about NJ. well, yes, the forum's primary function... and still. look at it!
WOW
So, please, no apologies to anyone here. Steve included (I know he will
