The Spanish Thread - Post all spanish convo here
I've noticed we have some Spanish speaking members here (like me) So i didn't want other members feeling left out since it has rolled into our English speaking forums. So how do we fix it? by making this thread.
When ever any of our members has the urge to speak Spanish on the forum , they can come here and start. So please keep it in this thread and I'm sure your wondering why I'm doing this . This forum is and started as an English speaking forum so I don't want to alienate our other members since everyone can speak English and only few can speak Spanish.
so here we go.
Come estan todos mis amigos????

Hey guys, I don't speak spanish, but I've certainly never felt alienated by those that do, IMO, feel free to speak whatever language you feel comfortable speaking in, but if you wanna talk to me, you gotta do it in english, lol.

Thanks man. Am glad you do understand. And it is not that I feel alienated in any way. In fact, I have a minor in English literature... among other "graces" that adorn my old personna (I probably am the oldest forum's member in human years, lol). I just love using my mother's language whenever.
It would be the same if I started speaking german, or portuguese or italian... which I also can do passably well. Big deal, huh?
No problem really. If I spoke here in spanish before, it was because I thought others would like it, period.
oh well, back to english. hahahaha

I do too. Just dont like it, period. It is not a matter of cultural assimilation for me. I am american by birth and English has been spoken at home "forever"... same as Spanish. Even now, with my own two sons and my mexican wife, we are fully multicultural and multilanguage in whatever we do.
We even live in a multicultural environment right here at the US/Mexican border (my hometown is San Diego, California and my mom lives right across the border in Tijuana, Baja California) and talking, thinking, etc in both languages is done automatically.
Just now, as I write this, my younger boy came in with three of his best pals: a negro kid who cannot speak or understand an iota of spanish but loves mexican food, my godson - who is originally from County Kerry, Ireland (he taught me a little Gaelic and I tutored him in Spanish) and who, when nervous, begins speaking in Gaelic and Ernesto.
I just dont like barriers.

what? me say something bad about Steve? Never, he is my homey, my boy. If I were to talk trash or berate him, I would address him directly and on his face.
Ask him, he knows this as a fact. I did not join this forum just to have fun myself but to support him as my buddy in his new venture. Luckyly, everyone here has taken to him with open arms (not that I am surprised, could not have happened any different as he is a great guy and a better Daddah...
Of course, if you wanna play with me, be my guest. I may even say something baaaaaaaaaaaady baaaad to please ya, doll.
Wow, I think this English only thing is ok. Easy on the old brain. hehehehe
PS... any more dog questions? Ohhhh I forgot one thing with nena. She actually is Reverend Nena. No, no kidding!

I also speak mostly Spanish at my moms house lol . My wife is Brazilian so she speaks Portuguese when were with all her family. And i can admit i feel a little alienated but im learning the language and catching on quick. I can now fully understand them and respond 60% of the time.
I just know how it is on certain forums when theres a subject being discussed and different languages are introduced. Its a little weird and you lose track of the convo. Its nothing personal to my Spanish as i AM South American myself. I just want everyone to be on the same page since we are typing and people have to read this stuff.
