Default Stolen portable GPS systems

I work at the medical university and they have seriously gone through the trouble or alerting employees to take their portable GPS systems and mounts out of their cars after they park. Apparently, people are breaking into cars and taking GPS systems and even the mounts when the GPS system are not even in the car. I'm sure this has been going on for a while, but I just thought I should just post this here.

Damn, I've heard of some portable GPS thefts lately, people just don't want to work for anything anymore.

Default hmm

I used to leave my in the car: guilty. But then I saw one of my girlfriends walking around with a carrying case for her GPS and that's when I knew it got serious. She lives in Westfield.

It's not like the car radios of the past where the theives would have to work. Your portale unit is saying, "Take me, take me. I'm portable. No tools. Just crack, grab and go." The same pitch that's used to sell the unit is the same things that encourages larceny. Ironic!

I agree. My friend not only left her GPS in her car at work, but she cracked her windows too. She has a very old Jetta so she figured no one would waste their time with her car...she was so wrong. They took her radio AND her GPS. She's from Middletown and we work in Newark and sometimes in Somerset so she figured that she could leave her car a little open like she does at home. I felt so bad for her. This happened last summer.
