thanks guys, I am staying positive and keeping the faith, at first we all just thought there was something wrong with his pancreas and gull-bladder, which there is, his pancreas is inflamed and they will be removing his gull-bladder sometime in the coming week, but some new problems have surfaced, his heart rate and blood pressure are going up and down constantly, it hardly ever stabalizes, and they're looking at his kidneys right now, they're not sure what, if anything is wrong, but he's only needed to use the restroom once in 2 1/2 days, which isn't normal, so please, I don't ask for much, but please, keep him in your prayers.

Eric, you know well you and your parents are always in my prayers... all day, every day. It is the least I can do for a dear friend.
So hang in there, ok? You guys will come ahead and overcome this soon enough, just as my family is slowly coming out of a certain ordeal you are well aware of.
What follows is something I found somewhere and which I sincerely hope will give you a little solace. It is based on Rudyard Kipling's "IF".
"When your soul is full of sorrow
and confusion leads the way,
don't be afraid to say so,
don't be afraid to pray.
When your heart is cold and empty,
when your blue skies turn to gray,
don't be afraid to say so,
just open your heart today.
Don't give up when things are tough
don't give up when things are rough,
don't give up, please don't ever stop.
When your days are dull and useless,
and your nights are lonely and blue,
don't be afraid to say so, remember
open your heart today.
Once you have opened your heart to
prayer and strive to live a better way,
watch your days become more useful,
and your nights more fulfilled too."
May God bless you always, amigo!

Prayer Thread
Hey guys, this morning was rough, my Dad's kidneys began to fail, as did his liver, so they transferred him to one of the best hospitals in the country, he has somewhat stabilized and will be undergoing a procedure in the morning, so please everyone, keep him in your prayers, it's looking a little better tonight, but he's not out of the woods and the doctors said he would probably get worse before he gets better.

Hey Rosa, there is NO such thing as bad news... everything happens for a purpose and, as long as we remain strong, positive and believe both in God and ourselves, there is always hope.
So lets form a Prayer Chain for Eric and his dad, ok? All I ask is for each one of you who reads this adds up a little prayer for their well-being. Each one of us, even the "non-believers" has his/her own special way of praying. Now is the time for all of us to rally behing our Eric and his dad.
SO LETS DO IT!!
Dear Father in Heaven: Please keep Eric and his dad on Your almighty hand, protect them. heal them, help them, support them through these uncertain times and make them whole once again... Amen.

Hey guys, I have a little good news to report tonight, my Dad's kidneys and liver are functioning "ok" right now, we're still not out of the woods, he'll be in ICU for a little while yet, but any good news is great right now, his pancreas still isn't doing good, but he had a procedure today that should alleviate some of his pain and will hopefully start him on his way to a full recovery, so keep him in your prayers, tomorrow is another day, and we're going into it with our spirits high.

And may our Lord and His most blessed mother, the Virgin Mary, bless you too.
You may not be a practicing Catholic "anymore" (as you put it) but you still have your Faith in you (being a Catholic is like being a Marine: Once a Catholic, always a Catholic... no matter what you may call yourself later in life.).
Amen!
