It is just my style, you monkey! I am cute by nature. So what's ur excuse?
As for the wallets. I can imagine. For some, it can be a life-shattering experience as they seem to carry their whole past in there (even the first used c....m, or part of it, I think).
I always keep copies of important documents I carry round (on a safe place, separate from the wallet) and, if possible at all, carry the copies in the wallet instead of the originals. Learned this in the military, long time ago and it is still good.
Also, I never carry any cash in there. When I travel, I use traveler's checks (amex) and just enough cash for porter tips, taxis (prefer to rent cars anyway), and other sundry items I might need to purchase en route. I also keep a copy of my passport data pages safe at home and still another copy of them hidden in my bags (this did help me once when I was in Medellin several years ago and some clown tried to steal my bag at the airport, claiming it was his. The cops nabbed the sucker and he keep insisting. I asked for the bag to be opened and then directed one of the cops to the location of the passport copy == a small envelope taped inside one of the side pouches within the bag == that did it. The guy got clobbered and jailed).
Try it, keeping separate copies of your wallet=based documents. It might come handy if the problem happens again. Also, use a biker's wallet chain and a sturdy cowhide wallet instead of your guicci or hemp made one!
Cute enough for you, chico?
