and stayed for the day.

My DH is a member of the National Cockatiel Society and is also a cockatiel breeder so we went to a show in Newport News yesterday.

We took the Turnpike down to Rt. 13 and we'll never do that again. Too many traffic lights all the way down through Deleware to Virginia Beach and no decent rest stops. Thankfully I left the baby with the in laws, but my oldest went (I have a 7 month old and a 12 year old).

Here are some pictures. My DH won two titles. He won Best Novice for a Pearl Cock and 5th place in Advanced portion for a Pearl Pied. It was the first show he had ever entered in his birds.

His birds would have done better if we had stayed in a hotel over night in VA, but instead we drove down which made the birds stress out so he fell below.

Anyway, we had a great time. And no, VA doesn't make me want to move from NJ.

Glad you had a nice time but sad that your birds were stressed out.

Well, if you drove all the way down to VA then you drove right passed my house. I live 30 seconds from Rt. 13. in C-ford, DE

wow thats a lot of birds. My cousin just bought 4 baby love birds and spent 1300 on all of em. I want one but don' think i can have anymore pets lol

and soon to have 10 fish lol

$1,300 dollars for 4 baby parakeets (parakeet-like birds in pastel colors and stripes which are also called love birds or periquitos de amor)??? No kidding?

My mom used to have a 10 by 8 feet cage full of those until she decided to give them away for free as she was spending unbelieveable amounts of time and other things to take care of the animals. Too bad I did not knew you 3 years ago. You could have made a killing, money wise.

$320 dollars per bird.... wow! Mom had about 150 of them in that cage! All colors and about 50-50 male female ratio. Dang!

Darn, I took a far away pic of the love birds show that was right next to us in the same room

. I'll post that when I get a chance. Those birds are so cute!

My guinea pig of 7 years died today so my other one is lonely now. We have 1 dog, 4 cats, a million birds and now, one pig.

I only have one cute Weirmaraner 18-month girl... who thinks she is human! Her name is NENA. Will post her pix later.... one inche long stiletto fangs. nada!
